Helping women, help themselves | Financial Adviser | Mortgage Broker
I’m a single, independent woman, I always have been and I really don’t have any plans to change that any time soon. I adore my life and cherish the freedom I have created for myself. I realised a long time ago that I would probably never have an additional wage in my life to help pay the rent, help save for a house, or help pay down the mortgage. I also knew that I needed to get clearer about how money works, and to make the most of the money I could make for myself. So I started going to seminars, and reading books on economics, and realised how much I actually loved learning about this stuff. I still do! I can’t seem to pick up a book that is not related to economics, markets or business.
At the same time as trying to learn as much as I could, I knew I needed the help of a professional to steer me along the right path, and to help me understand all the strategies out there. I needed a financial sounding board. So I saw three different advisers, unfortunately none were women, but none of them made anything any clearer for me. I really didn’t understand what they were trying tell me.
My experience left me feeling like their focus was on the strategy they wanted me to adopt, they hadn’t really taken the time to get to know about me! Funnily enough, knowing what I know now, their advice was good; I just couldn’t understand it and I had no rapport or connection with any of them.
So I decided to study and become the adviser I was looking for. After all, if I felt this way then I was sure that other women out there must feel the same way.
I am now completely clear on who I feel I should be helping…Women. Quite often women underestimate their ability to achieve certain goals, especially financial ones. So focus on enjoying your life and let me focus on managing your money; real financial advice, woman to woman.
